Please sponsor our 24 hour board game marathon raising funds for MSF

RESCHEDULED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS

Please help us raise vital funds for Médecins Sans Frontières.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international and independent medical humanitarian organisation delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. We offer assistance based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

Médecins Sans Frontières sends medical teams and supplies around the world to provide urgent medical assistance to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people in over 70 countries each year.

Your help will ensure that the field staff can respond when and where they are needed.

We will now be playing board games virtually non-stop in a marathon from 9:00am Saturday 16th April (Easter Saturday)  to 9:00am Sunday 17th April 2022.  See the blog below for more details.

This Time It Will Happen (God Willing ...)

Saturday 26th Mar
Three times so far we have shaped up to this marathon challenge, and 3 times COVID has intervened.  But this time will be different.

Easter Saturday (April 16th) at 9am intrepid souls will gather to hit the board games for an entire 24 hours (or such time period as each can commit to).   

Pandemic, Catan, Scythe, Carcassonne, Suburbia, Intrepid, Tang Garden, Wingspan, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders - we'll give them all a go.   As the light fades and the night prolongs the games will get simpler:  Tsuro, Love Letters even Stockmarket.

You can support us as we raise funds for MSF (Doctors Without Borders).  We particularly want to support vaccination programs in countries struggling with COVID.  Each vaccination makes not only that person and their community, but the whole world safer, as new variants arise in poorly vaccinated populations.

We love playing games, and if we can use it to raise funds for a seriously important cause, then so much the better.  Please support us by making a donation today.

The Best Laid Plans ...

We had a great plan ...  and then COVID hit Sydney (again) and we all went into lockdown.

But this too has passed, and we are trying again.

Monday 3rd January, we intrepid souls will commence 24 grueling hours of board game playing.  Commencement will be 10 am.

We'll start with the complicated games: Scythe, Intrepid, Suburbia.  As the day draws on the games will gradually become simpler to learn and play.

3am will be the lowest point.  At that point we'll want nothing more complicated to explain than Tsuro or Stockmarket.

It will get easier (I hope) as it gets lighter, and the finish line gets closer.

We are crazy, but please support us.  Not for us, but for MSF and the people who will benefit from their care.
