Gather to Give: Supporting Sudan and Palestine This Ramadan
This Ramadan, GUMSA is using our 2026 Iftar as more than just a space to break our fast together... we are using it as an opportunity to give back.
As we gather in gratitude, we are mindful of our brothers and sisters in Sudan and Palestine who are facing ongoing humanitarian crises, displacement, and limited access to essential medical care. In the spirit of this blessed month, we are partnering with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an independent medical humanitarian organisation providing life-saving treatment in conflict zones and crisis-affected regions around the world.
Through this Iftar, we aim to turn our shared meal into meaningful action; raising funds to support emergency medical assistance, essential supplies, and frontline healthcare for vulnerable communities in Sudan and Palestine.
As we fast, we are reminded of those who do so without choice. As we give, we embody the true essence of Ramadan. May this Iftar be a source of barakah not only for us, but for those who need it most.

Since the beginning, whenever I watched videos from Palestine, I would break down in tears and feel a deep urge to help my Palestinian brothers and sisters. It was difficult to find a trustworthy way to contribute, which made me feel helpless at times. I’m truly grateful to GUMSA for giving me the opportunity to support this cause. May Allah accept our efforts, ease the suffering of our brothers and sisters, and grant them strength and protection. Indeed, we have no one but Allah to turn to.
