Our world is kinder & more connected than headlines suggest
Wednesday 10th Jun
Having visited more than 150 countries, including diverse places where MSF operates, such as Yemen, Myanmar, Iran, Colombia, Lebanon, Madagascar, Guatemala and the Republic of Congo—I discovered that ordinary people are often far kinder than politics, borders and stereotypes would have us believe. Time and again, I encountered extraordinary humanity in unexpected places, reinforcing my belief that far more unites us than divides us.
Witnessing countries later devastated by natural disasters, pandemics and conflict deepened my admiration for organisations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), whose teams risk their own safety to save the lives of others in some of the world's most challenging circumstances.
That is why all author royalties from Beyond Timbuktu: Journeys of Hope & Humanity are being donated to support MSF's vital and impartial humanitarian work in more than 70 countries. I hope you will join me in helping further their remarkable mission.
