THE CONDORS ULTRAMARATHON FOR DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS
Friday 10th Feb Hi everyoneAnother year brings another Dead Cow Gully ultramarathon (07 April) and another very worthy charity to fundraise for. This year we have decided to fundraise for Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres).
Doctors Without Borders is an international and independent medical humanitarian organisation delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
I’m sure you’ll agree that now is as good time as any to get behind the wonderful work Doctors Without Borders do and to be grateful how fortunate we are to live in a country like Australia where we have the lifestyle and means to not only not require their services but to have the means to provide much needed support to those that do.
And now, you are probably wondering why ‘Condors’ ?
Recently I found out a little known but very interesting fact. The Andean Condor is the largest flying bird in the world and can glide (yes without flapping it’s wings) for 100 miles ! (160km) Impressive right ?
Well, we hope we can glide at least that far and then some and whilst doing so raise over $1,000 for Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres).
So we ask you to please come on this journey with us and help make a difference in a world that currently needs it more than ever. Donations can be made via the link below.
Thank you !
