Katherine's Marathon Challenge

Please help me raise vital funds for Médecins Sans Frontières

Marathon season is incoming!

This year, I will be aiming to complete my first World Major when I run Sydney Marathon on 31st August 2025.
For some reason (probably post night shift delirium), I thought the best way to recover from Sydney Marathon would be to also enter the Melbourne Marathon on 12th October 2025.

By the time I complete the Melbourne Marathon, it'll be over 2 years since the latest conflict in Gaza began.

I can't think of a more appropriate charity than  Médecins Sans Frontières to raise funds for through my Marathon challenge.

Médecins Sans Frontières provide medical aid and life saving treatments throughout the world in some of the harshest conditions.

Working in hospitals in Gaza with limited electricity/medical supplies to treat the thousands of innocent civilians who have been injured throughout the conflict, to providing medical care in Myanmar following the recent earthquake as well as working in 70+ other countries affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Challenge Complete

Monday 13th Oct
Melbourne Marathon ✔️ Noy quite the Sydney PB but delighted to get sub 4 hours especially with no the smoothest prep going into race day. And thank you so much to everyone who has donated, thanks to all your kind donations, we reached the target and raised over $1500 for MSF 👏🏼

Challenge 1 complete

Sunday 31st Aug
What a show Sydney put on today, hosting its first ever major! The atmosphere was unreal from start to finish and there was a surprising PB hit. And that is challenge 1 complete, now for a bit of recovery before doing it all again in Melbourne in 6 weeks time!

A day for the ducks/bin chickens

Friday 1st Aug
4 weeks until the big day (Sydney Marathon)! Here's hoping the weather improves before then - today was ideal swimming conditions but definitely not ideal conditions to run around Sydney. Anyway 34km in the bag. Thanks again to everyone who has donated! Unfortunately, the situation is getting more dire every day in Gaza as the people of Gaza and those working and volunteering with MSF battle starvation and lack of medical resources. No doubt your donations will be appreciated by all ❤️

10 week countdown

Monday 23rd Jun
Yesterday marked the 10 week countdown until I compete in my first major- Sydney Marathon.

Prep is in full swing now - running and almost crawling 25km around Sydney today and apologies to the many tourist pictures I photobombed along the way!

Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far ❤️
